This is my home. This is where, for the past 20 years, I have raised my family. The vineyards that surround my home are my family’s “playground.” 18 years ago my first son, Giacomo was born. It was in that moment that I realized it was time for a change. I saw life differently and I decided that my children had to grow up surrounded by unspoilt nature in our beautiful countryside. Out of love and respect came my decision to no longer use any chemicals to cultivate the vineyard.
Today, I could not go back. Wines produced from natural, organic and integrated viticulture, and in general, all things that come from a sustainable production process, are what I like most. It makes me happy and it gives me hope for the future. From this passion, which I have shared with many people I work with, was born a selection of wines. Wines that are produced out of love and respect for all things natural, wines that make me happy and that I am proud to share with anyone who also shares my passion. In this case, actions speak louder than words, so we invite you to taste our wines.
The estate is located in the Arno valley a few miles from the coast in the town of Pontedera, expanding logistic area; for this reason this location was chosen in the Seventies to build the bottling plant, the offices and the logistic warehouse. Within the estate there is the “house of the arches”, a nineteenth century rural property where there are the aging cellars of the red wine produced from the grapes grown in the adjacent vineyards. The chioce to dedicate the vineyard to the cultivation of Bordeaux grape varieties comes from the desire to continue the tradition of the Tuscan coast with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot as the main varieties. The vineyard is cultivated with organic practices.

This land, which rich also in stone in fossil shells, is located about 25 kilometers West of the Tyrrhenian Sea and shows the typical aspects of the meeting place between rivers and sea. The climate is Mediterranean with warm breezes coming from the sea during day and night. This excellent ventilation protect the vineyard from the risk of heat waves determined by recent climate changes. The vineyard is completely surrounded by woods. The osmotic exchange with the native varieties of Mediterranean maquis allows an interesting occasional aromatic exchange and a greater richness of the interaction between the vineyard and the local wildlife.

Blends are known to be interesting and complex types of wine: they usually consist of at least 40-50% of one type of grape and a smaller mix of two or more different grapes.
Blending add complexity to wines as it is useful to maximize the expression of a wine, enhancing its aromas, colour, texture, body and finish, making the wine more well-rounded and complex.
The winemaker decides what he thinks it will be the best formula for a blend. Creating the perfect blend also depends on the characteristics of the vintage and the expression of each grape. The possibility for combinations that result in a quality blend are endless.
The timeline for mixing wines can vary: some winemakers mix blends in a steel tank one to two weeks before bottling. Some other try letting the wines ferment together from start to finish. The goal is to develop the best out of every wine.
In a playful formula
[CC+SS+A] – [E+T] – [O²] = Minerality
CC is Cool Climate
SS is Stony Soils,
A is Acid,
E + T are the fruity aspects of wine in Esters and Thiols
O² is Oxygen
More briefly, look for wines that come from stony soils and cool climates, have marked acidity, are not overtly fruity and have not been much exposed to oxygen.
BUT for us winemaking is more than a science, it is an Art …so our assumption is that mineral wines are superior to ‘mass market’ fruity wines. Mineral wines have a romantic image that implies they are handmade by artisans and express the mystery of the soil, with the viticulturist as the magical mediator.

is a pictorial pigment traditionally produced by charring desiccated grapes vines and stems, already known to the antique Greeks and Romans. It looks like a very light powder but with a great covering power, a wonderful shade and persistent color over time.
