"Castellani Chianti Riserva 2013" selected for the Cité du Vin

the wine list of the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux where it will be the only
representative of its appellation (Chianti DOCG). The wine has been
selected by Andreas Larsson, supported by a
tasting committee chaired by Michel Rolland, to realize the selection of
wines that will be sold at the Enoteca, in the Wine Boutique and in the
Cité Panoramic restaurant, which was inaugurated on May 31st 2016 in
the presence of the President of the French Republic Francois Hollande.
From the 1st to the 3rd of April, an internationally renowned panel selected and made up of credible professionals scored the participating wines within Italy and the rest of the world. This commission awarded our Chianti Classico Tenuta Campomaggio 2013, Radda in Chianti, with 91 points...
Once again this year excellent ratings for our wines from the prestigious French guide Gilbert & Gaillard. The 2013 Chianti Classico DOCG of Campomaggio estate has been awarded 91 pts. 91 pts also for the Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva 2011 from the same estate. The Genius Loci Sangiovese Toscana IGT 2012 from Burchino estate won 88 pts. As for the wines of Tenuta Poggio al Casone, Chianti DOCG Superiore 2014 was awarded 89 pts and La Cattura Toscana IGT 2013 87 pts. Thanks to the excellent scores achieved, all the wines mentioned won the prestigious Gold Medal with our great satisfaction.
The Ceppaiano Estate was born in 2005. Initially conceived as an extension of the Poggio al Casone vineyards and location of the new winery, it afterwards becomes an independent estate as a result of subsequent land acquisitions that differ from those of Poggio al Casone for the prevalence of alluvial sands arranged on foothill heights overlooking the coast.
Thanks to particularly dry and windy conditions, to produce extraordinary grapes without the addition of any artificial, chemical products. Inky red colour. Intense bouquet of black cherries and berries. Taste, velvety and rich with soft tannins.

From the early '900 it hadn't been seen. The only specimen observed and captured until today is in the entomological collection of the University of St. Petersburg and dates back to 1903. It is a tiny insect of the order "Hymenoptera", belonging to the family Braconidae. To be precise, the scientific name of this microscopic animal is Ecclitura primoris Kokujev (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Euphorinae).
