  • Ciliegiolo Toscana IGT - Santa Lucia

    This wine is produced from Ciliegiolo (cee-lee-a-jo-low aka “cherrygrape”) grapes grown in the low-yielding organic vineyard of the Tenuta Santa Lucia on coastal Tuscany near Pisa. Deep ruby red in colour. Rich spicy perfumes and black pepper notes with a hint of raisins. Full body balanced taste, very intense and spicy with sweet cherry flavours.

  • Sangiovese Ciliegiolo Toscana IGT - Santa Lucia

    The our wine "Toscano" is a beautiful blend of Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo grapes grown in the low-yielding organic vineyard of the Tenuta Santa Lucia on coastal Tuscany, near Pisa. Bright ruby red colour. Very fresh and fruity at nose, with lots of cherry notes. Taste, fairly intense with sweet cherry flavours.

  • Chianti Superiore DOCG - Poggio al Casone

    This great classic is born from a selection of the best Sangiovese and Canaiolo organic grapes from Poggio al Casone vineyard. Vivacious ruby red colour tending to garnet with ageing. Intense and characteristic bouquet, fruity with violet notes. Taste, round and fruity taste balanced by ageing in traditional cask. Super ripe fruitiness and a soft easy-feel taste are the characteristics of our Chianti Superiore.

  • Grand Noir Toscana IGT - Poggio al Casone

    Today this type of vine created in 1885, almost disappeared, thanks to a research of Castellani lasted more than 15 years in collaboration with the University of Pisa, began to grow in Poggio al Casone hills. Intense ruby red color with purple reflections. Bouquet, very fruity on the nose with hints of strawberry and wild dark fruits. Taste, very spicy and complex with elegant nuances of black pepper and Mediterranean balsamic herbs, light refreshing body with velvety texture.

    This wine, whose name has been inspired by the annual capture of wild hares bred in the natural setting of the vineyards, is the expression of an organic agriculture that has renounced to any product or procedure damaging nature, rediscovering the great values of an antique wine-growing process. Purple red colour. Bouquet, notes of red berries, blackberries and hints of white pepper. Taste, medium-bodied, fresh, velvety with well integrated tannins.

  • L'Antico di Burchino Chianti DOCG - Burchino

    Ruby red wine with purple reflections. On the nose it has a surprising cleanness with strong notes of cherry and spices. Medium bodied wine, soft and pleasant on the palate showing nice freshness and a good balance of fruit, tannins and acidity. It has a long smooth finish.

Tenuta Santa Lucia

The vineyard of Santa Lucia Estate is located about 100m above sea level at the intersection of the Arno and the Era Valleys on ancient downspouts land consisting of layers of tufaceous sands and gravel; a land which reveals at times the meeting between the river and the sea, which is now located about 25 kilometers to the west, also rich in stone and fossil shells.

From selected hilly vineyards of the Venezie region. Colour, straw yellow with greenish reflections. Balanced bouquet with notes of apple, peach and hawthorn. Fresh and harmonious on the palate. Ideal with grilled chicken, fish course or Salads.

Castellani also this year sponsors UniversoCorto Elba film festival, offering its wine to the guests during the various presentation evenings and the gala evening for the awards.

UniversoCorto is an international festival of short films and documentaries reserved to undergraduate and post-graduate students and enrolled in cinema schools, which boasts illustrious presidents including Roberto Faenza, Oliviero Toscani, Marco Bellocchio, and a equally prestigious jury.

The 2013 edition takes place in Portoferraio (Isola d'Elba, Tuscany) from July 30 to August 2, and will be accompanied by some special side events including a photo exhibition on Pasolini of the photographer Mario Dondero. This year is the well-known Sardinian fashion designer Antonio Marras * to preside over the jury. He is also the author of the beautiful illustration printed on the poster.

*Antonio Marras born in 1961 is a well-known Italian fashion designer that emerged in the international fashion world for his original creations and an absolutely personal style. His reputation is now also linked to the fact that for his merits he has been appointed artistic director of the French fashion brand Kenzo.
