Burchino, a Chianti of "Diamond"
First place overall in the Pisa area
"Chianti Superiore DOCG 2011 Tenuta di Burchino of Terricciola triumphs..." so begins the article in the daily newspaper Il Tirreno of Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
It's the jury of Festival del Chianti, divided into three committees of taste to declare the victory with unique opinion of our wine as the best Chianti in the province of Pisa. A great opportunity because the quality of the wines in the competition was very good and growing steadily, just as you would expect from this area, particularly suited to Sangiovese. To represent the desire to strengthen the global image of the Chianti Pisano also the highest participation in this event by the producers.
Therefore, to our great satisfaction the Burchino Chianti Superiore DOCG 2011 has been awarded with the "Diamond Fiasco 2014." Produced by an accurate selection of Sangiovese with 10% among Ciliegiolo and Canaiolo and aged 12 months in Slavonian barrels, the feature that has conquered the tasters was without a doubt "the great elegance that opens on the nose with fine intensity directed to cherry and vanilla hints with a delicate spicy tip due to the black pepper, in the mouth confirms cleanliness and harmony, highlighting good silky tannins, the finish is long enough with notes of fresh red fruit. Worthy of reflection is the fact that the Chianti Burchino was able to prevail with a relatively low alcohol content, 12.5, fitting in an international production trend that look for taste and intensity with lower intake of alcohol."
Also a great place for our Chianti Superiore 2011 of Poggio al Casone Estate. With the fifth place overall wins the title of "Gold Fiasco 2014" reserved to the four wines that follow the first in the standings.
Prize giving conferred on the crowded "Gran Gala del Chianti" award ceremony of the festival-competition held at the restaurant "Castero" of Lavaiano organized by Il Tirreno.
For us great satisfaction and pride. And personally the awareness that our philosophy of quality and sustainability is a challenging course but gives excellent results.
